Mission
Divergent Harmonies exists to make ADHD easier to understand, easier to talk about, and easier to support in daily life.
This site is built for people who want clarity without stigma: individuals with ADHD, parents, educators, partners, and professionals. The content is designed to be evidence-informed, structured, and practical, while also honoring lived experience. ADHD is not a moral failure. It is a neurodevelopmental difference that often requires environmental fit, skill-building, and compassionate support.
The goal is simple: replace confusion with understanding, replace shame with tools, and replace isolation with language people can use.
Who I Am
Research-informed. Experience-shaped. Systems-focused.
Professional Direction
My name is DJ Saighman. I am a psychology graduate pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) path with an emphasis on family systems, developmental psychology, executive functioning, and trauma-informed practice. My work is grounded in systems thinking and the belief that behavior makes sense in context.
I am particularly interested in how ADHD interacts with family dynamics, educational systems, and environmental expectations. Much of what is labeled as “defiance” or “lack of effort” is often a mismatch between neurological wiring and structural demands.
Why This Platform Exists
Divergent Harmonies was created to bridge a gap. Many ADHD resources are either clinically dense and inaccessible or overly simplified and inaccurate. This platform aims to provide structured, evidence-informed explanations that remain readable and practical.
Philosophy
ADHD is not a moral failure. It is a neurodevelopmental difference. Effective support requires skill development, environmental adjustments, and dignity. Empowerment begins with accurate language and practical tools.
Scope and Professional Boundaries
This platform is educational in nature and does not provide clinical services.
The content presented on Divergent Harmonies is grounded in peer-reviewed research, public health standards, and lived experience. While I am formally trained in psychology and pursuing graduate education in social work, this website does not provide diagnosis, therapy, or individualized treatment planning.
If you are seeking a formal assessment or clinical care, consult a licensed mental health professional or healthcare provider in your area.
Links and Recommended Resources
These are the pages and sources I consider foundational for credible ADHD education and support.
Drop your link list here and I’ll format it into clean, categorized sections (Organizations, Clinical Overviews, School/Workplace Supports, Crisis Resources, and Professional Directories).
